The reason for the ban reportedly has nothing to do with content -- at least officially. The basis on paper is that the songs were never submitted to the Chinese government for "approval and registration." Well, I'm sure it's stated somewhere very clearly that all songs ever must be submitted for approval to the Chinese Ministry of Culture. Right?
Just take this as a moment to appreciate the fact that you can sing along to songs about "Disco sticks" and melting "popsicles" here in the good ol' U.S. of A. That's what our forefathers were fighting for, right?
